Past-Life Regression

Is Past-Life Regression Right for You? What a Session Is Really Like

By Rose · September 30, 2026 · 7 min read

Some questions don't have answers in this lifetime. The fear that makes no sense. The place you've never been that feels like home. The pattern you've worked on for years that keeps coming back in a new shape. When people find their way to me asking about past-life regression, it's usually because they've already tried to understand these things from the outside, and something in them knows the answer lives deeper. If that's you, let me walk you through what regression therapy is and what a session is really like, so you can decide with an open heart whether it's right for you.

What is regression therapy?

The regression therapy I offer follows the Dolores Cannon method. Dolores Cannon was a hypnotherapist who developed her approach over decades of work with thousands of people, and I have worked with her method and trained with one of her students. It uses a very soft, natural kind of hypnosis to guide you into the deeply relaxed state you pass through every night just before sleep. In that state, the busy thinking mind steps aside, and you can reach memories and wisdom it usually keeps behind a curtain: other lifetimes your soul has lived, and the loving, all-knowing part of you that some call the higher self.

It isn't stage hypnosis. No one takes control of you, and you can't be made to do or say anything. You stay aware the whole time, a little like a daydream you can step out of whenever you choose. What makes this work different from simply remembering is that we don't only visit. We release. The goal is to free the imprint that has been quietly shaping your life, and to reconnect you with what your soul came here to do.

What a session with me is like

We meet over Zoom, and I set aside two to three hours, because this work can't be rushed. We begin simply, just talking. I'll ask what's brought you here, what questions you're carrying, and what you most hope to understand or heal. Then I open in prayer and call in Archangel Metatron, the angel of sacred geometry, who is my primary guide in this work, along with my guides and the angels that work through me. From there, the session moves through a few gentle stages:

  • Relaxation: my voice guides your body and mind into that soft, dreamy state. Most people are surprised how natural it feels.
  • Arriving in a lifetime: you'll begin noticing impressions, like the ground under your feet, your clothes, or a feeling. There's no wrong way for it to come.
  • Walking through what matters: we move to the moments in that life that hold the lesson or the wound, and we look at them with compassion instead of fear.
  • Understanding and release: we ask why this life was shown to you now, and we let go of what it left behind.
  • Coming home: I guide you gently back, grounded and present, and we talk about what came through.

What people often experience

Every session is different, because every soul is different. Some people see vivid pictures. Others simply know things, or feel them in their body. Some hear words or recognize a person they love in another form. What I hear most often afterward is a sense of relief: a fear that finally makes sense, a relationship seen in a new light, or a heaviness lifted that they'd carried so long they'd stopped noticing it. It's normal if it feels more like remembering a dream than watching a movie. The healing doesn't depend on how cinematic it is.

Signs a regression may be calling you

There's no test you have to pass. But these are some of the quiet signs I see in the people this work helps most:

  • A fear or phobia that has no clear cause in this life
  • A pattern in love, money, or family that repeats no matter what you do
  • An instant, deep connection or aversion to someone you've just met
  • A strong pull toward a certain era, culture, or place you've never been
  • A feeling that you're here for a reason, and a longing to know what it is

When to wait

Because I care about the people I work with, I want to be honest about this too. Regression therapy is spiritual healing, not a replacement for medical or mental health care. If you're in crisis, or you're being treated for a serious mental health condition, please talk with your doctor or therapist first, and come to this work when you feel steady. And if you're only curious for the sake of curiosity, that's okay, but you'll get the most from a session when there's something real you're ready to understand or let go of.

How to prepare

You don't need to study or practice anything. A few simple things help you let go fully:

  • Choose a quiet place where you can lie down and won't be interrupted for the full session
  • Use headphones if you can, and keep a blanket nearby, since the body often cools as it relaxes
  • Have water close by
  • Write down the questions that matter most to you and bring them with you
  • Plan a soft afternoon or evening afterward, because integration is real

In the days that follow, you may find more pieces surfacing in dreams or quiet moments. Let them come. Journaling helps. Be gentle with yourself; something old has just been set down.

If reading this has stirred something in you, a recognition or a quiet yes, I'd trust that. Your soul has been carrying its story for a very long time. It may be ready to be heard.

Questions people ask

Is past-life regression safe?
Yes. The Dolores Cannon method uses a gentle, natural form of hypnosis, the same relaxed state you pass through every night before sleep. You stay aware the whole time and can't be made to do anything against your will. It isn't a substitute for medical or mental health care, so if you're under treatment for a serious condition, check with your provider first.
What if I can't be hypnotized, or I don't see anything?
Almost everyone can relax into this state; it's the same one you enter just before falling asleep. And impressions don't have to be pictures. Many people know, feel, or hear rather than see, and the healing comes through just the same.
Will I remember my session?
Most people remember a good deal of it, a little like a vivid dream. We also talk through what came up at the end of the session, so you leave with the heart of it clear.
Can a past-life regression be done over Zoom?
Yes. I hold these sessions over Zoom, and many people find it easier to let go in their own home. Healing energy isn't limited by distance.
How long does a regression session take?
Plan for two to three hours in a single sitting. That includes our conversation beforehand, the regression itself, and time afterward to talk about what came through.

If you feel ready to meet what your soul has been carrying, a Regression Therapy session with Archangel Metatron is held gently over Zoom.
